Not For Ourselves Alone: The Story of Elizabeth Cady Stanton & Susan B. Anthony, Part II: “Failure is Impossible”  (1999)

The second part of Ken Burns’ Emmy and Peabody Award-winning documentary covers the long, final drive for women’s suffrage in America, from Susan B. Anthony’s arrest for daring to vote in the elections of 1872 to the final ratification of the 19th Amendment in 1920. Julie Harris’ stirring voiceover as Susan B. Anthony along with Burns’ inimitable blend of archival materials, eye-witness accounts and historical analysis bring this crucial period in American history to vivid life.
