On hand for the opening the Archive's "L.A. Rebellion: Creating a New Black Cinema" series tour stop at the TIFF Cinematheque in Toronto (Playing now through February 19), filmmaker Julie Dashed sat down for an interview with the local Global Toronto newscast. In addition to discussing the origins and legacy of the L.A. Rebellion movement, Dash also touched upon the current state of black cinema and even weighed in on the recent film, Django Unchained (dir. Quentin Tarantino, 2012).
