Janie and Andy Anderson were newlyweds during Andy’s military service. Since Andy’s return, the two feel estranged—despite their new baby—and seek a divorce. Ordered instead by the judge to retrace the steps of their courtship, they re-discover and re-kindle their original spark, despite misunderstandings along the way. Approaching the somewhat far-fetched premise with aplomb, Arthur infuses her disaffected character with a sense of hope.
