The Devil's Disciple  (1959)

A delightful pairing of frequent co-stars Kirk Douglas and Burt Lancaster, this unusual outing transports them to Revolutionary America, where sardonic reprobate Dick Dudgeon (Douglas) is mistaken for minister Anthony Anderson (Lancaster) and arrested by British forces by dint of mistaken identity.  The Shavian comedy is tempered by Laurence Olivier's British officer… but only slightly, as the American co-stars' chemistry wins the day.

16mm, b/w, 82 min.  DIR: Guy Hamilton.  SCR: John Dighton, Roland Kibbee.  CAST: Kirk Douglas, Burt Lancaster, Laurence Olivier, Janette Scott.
