The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951)

An alien accompanied by a large robot arrives on Earth to warn humans about the consequences of their violent ways and increasingly destructive technology, but his warnings fall on deaf ears as he meets a violent end at the hand of the humans in this science fiction commentary on Cold War mentalities, nuclear proliferation, and irony.
