Young Frankenstein (1974)

Directed by Mel Brooks

Mel Brooks’ spoof of the classic horror film finds young Dr. Frederick Frankenstein returning to the family castle and taking up his grandfather’s experiments, aided by hunchbacked servant Igor and sexy laboratory assistant Inge.  The doctor navigates encounters with angry townsfolk, suspicious constables, and a tricky secret-door bookcase in bringing to life his creation, an achievement which culminates in a very classy performance of “Puttin’ on the Ritz.”
