Lola has 20 minutes to save her boyfriend and the clock starts now. When Manni calls Lola from a payphone to tell her he is going to die if he cannot come up with money soon, she runs out of her apartment, trying to find ways to save him. Playing out various scenarios over the 20 minutes, time is viscerally felt as everything must fall into place for Manni to survive. Fast-paced, sharply edited, and creatively executed with flourishes of animation and pulsing music, Run Lola Run remains a thrilling viewing experience 25 years later.
