All of Me

Arturo González Villaseñor’s documentary offers a close-up view of Las Patronas, a group of Mexican women who for 20 years have organized to offer food, drink and support to migrants traveling northward to the United States on the freight train “La Bestia.”  An intimate account of a tender and almost invisible phenomenon, the film affirms the human kindness that one may feel for total strangers, as they go hurtling past on a fast-moving train to an unknown destiny.

Producer: Indira Cato.  Director: Arturo González Villaseñor.  Cinematographer: Juan Antonio Mecalco Cruz.  Editor: Lucrecia Gutiérrez Maupomé.  Digital video, color, in Spanish with English subtitles, 90 min.
