UPA "Jolly Frolics"  (1948-1953)

With bold colors, striking graphics, and playful use of jazz and classical music, the “Jolly Frolics” cartoon shorts produced by United Productions of America (UPA) introduced audiences to a vibrant range of imaginative stories and characters.  This selection highlights the Jolly Frolics’ unique spin on childhood classics such as Madeline, Robin Hood and Dr. Seuss, including the Academy Award-winning Gerald McBoing Boing (1951).
