Levon Haftvan (star of Fat Shaker, screened in last year’s series) made his riveting screen debut in director Majid Barzegar’s powerful first feature about another troubled father-son relationship. Still living at home at the age of 50, Parviz (Haftvan) is shocked when his dad kicks him out to make way for his new wife. Emotionally stunted and deeply wounded, Parviz lashes out in vicious, petty ways until he sees a chance to reclaim his rightful place. Barzegar builds a mounting sense of tension and dread that doesn’t break until film’s final seconds.
