My Uncle (Mon Oncle) (1958)

My Uncle (Mon Oncle) (1958)

"Jacques Tati is the great philosophical tinkerer of comedy, taking meticulous care to arrange his films so that they unfold in a series of revelations and effortless delights." — Roger Ebert

Directed by Jacques Tati

In a delightfully slapstick sendup of modern living, the bumbling Monsieur Hulot (Tati), beloved by his young nephew Gerard, inadvertently wreaks havoc as he grapples with the automated gadgets in the ultramodern home of his brother-in-law. Ingenious visual gags and elaborately designed sets tell the story in the recently restored English-language version of Tati's vibrant, playful satire.
