Title:

"Protest against portrayal of lesbians in The Prisoner"

Date:
August 10, 1979

Synopsis

Outside of KTLA studios on Sunset Boulevard people protest the television show The Prisoner and its portrayal of lesbians. Protesters chant and carry signs with slogans such as "Stop attacks on the gay community" and "This is a crime against lesbians." Some of the individual protesters state their reasons for joining the protest. An unidentified man presumably involved in the show's production, possibly a producer or writer, sits down with reporter Stan Chambers to discuss his reaction to the protest.

Note:  The KTLA newsfilm collection at UCLA consists of cut and unedited stories, outtakes and fill footage, originally shot on 16mm reversal film stock with magnetic soundtrack. Some footage, particularly material not used for broadcast, may be without sound.
