Synopsis

Activist Irene Tovar, speaking on behalf of the Chicano Coalition of Los Angeles County and other organizations, charges the Los Angeles County Human Relations Committee with discriminatory hiring practices, stating they bypassed the leading diverse candidate for the position of Human Relations Director. Tovar states the Chicano Coalition will use all methods available in order to stop and prevent both subtle and overt acts of discrimination against the Mexican American community, and they are currently investigating legal resources, such as an injunction against the Human Relations Committee. Footage includes silent shots of reporters and members of the Coalition.
