Date:
c. 1943

Synopsis

Original air date unknown.

Cast: Gertrude Berg (Molly Goldberg); James R. Waters (Jake Goldberg); Roslyn Silber (Rosalie Goldberg); Alfred Ryder (Sammy Goldberg); Menasha Skulnik (Uncle David).

Announcer introduction: "Well, the time is here... yes the Goldbergs are at the station awaiting the arrival of Sammy's wife. Grace you remember, is the new member of the Goldberg family, the daughter-in-law who Molly has never seen. Because as Grace wrote, she and Sammy were married just before Sammy left for parts unknown with his contingent. So, Grace is coming up to see the family she never saw. Only one fly has somewhat spoiled the ointment... the fly is a coincidence... coincidence by the name of George. George is a new farmhand on a nearby farm and the letter he wrote to the neighbor was postmarked from the same town on the same day as Grace's letter. For a while Jake was suspicious... but that's all over now, only great expectation remains. Listen..."

Announcer close: "Well, there's no doubt now that Molly's daughter-in-law is more than she appears to be and George is certainly more than a farmhand. Just what is brewing for the Goldbergs we don't know yet... but it can't be happiness."
