13th Annual "Women of African Descent Film Festival" On May 3 in Brooklyn

The Archive is renowned for its pioneering efforts to rescue, preserve and showcase moving image media. It is dedicated to ensuring that film history is explored and enjoyed for generations to come.

Saturday, May 3, 2014 marks the date of "13th Annual Women of African Descent Film Festival," sponsored by The Brooklyn Chapter of the Links.  The Festival will unspool at the Long Island University Brooklyn campus from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

The Festival's mission is to screen works that illuminate the positive linkages between woman of African descent and their resepctive families, friends and communities. 

In the morning, there will be youth-oriented programming, followed by afternoon screenings of the 20 selected films, along with discussions with the filmmakers.
