Where is the Billy Wilder Theater located?

On the courtyard level of the Hammer Museum (on the corner of Westwood and Wilshire Boulevards).

Is parking available at the Billy Wilder Theater?

1)  A parking garage is conveniently located beneath the Hammer Museum and accepts cash only. Enter from Westwood Blvd., just north of Wilshire Blvd.

Monday - Friday after 6 p.m.:  $6.
Monday - Friday before 6 p.m.:  $6 for first 3 hours with Hammer Museum validation and $3 every 20 minutes thereafter. Daily maximum is $20. To obtain validation, show your ticket stub at the welcome desk in the museum lobby.
Saturday & Sunday all day:  $6.


2)  Visitor parking is available in UCLA Parking Lot 36 at 11020 Kinross Ave. Credit cards or exact bills only.

Monday - Friday after 4:30 p.m.:  2 hours $4  /  all night $5
Saturday & Sunday:  2 hours $4  /  all night $5

3)  Visitor parking is available in UCLA Parking Structure 32 at 11020 Kinross Ave. Credit cards or exact bills only. $12 for all day parking.

 


How much are tickets for Archive screenings?

Certain Archive programs are free to the public.  Please check our calendar to see which programs are indicated as free.


Can I obtain tickets in advance?

Tickets can be purchased in advance in two ways:

Patrons may buy tickets online for $10 on our website,

OR buy their tickets in advance at the Billy Wilder Theater box office when it is open for Archive screenings.  Please check our calendar for hours.


What should I do if I am having problems with the online ticketing service?

Please e-mail the Archive at archive@cinema.ucla.edu or call us at (310) 206-8013.  We will try to respond within the next business day.


When is the box office open?

The box office is open approximately one hour before each program.  The theater doors open 30 minutes prior to the screening.


Is food offered at the Billy Wilder Theater?

No, food is not available at the theater.  However, there are plenty of food and drink options in the surrounding Westwood Village.  You may also opt to bring your own food and eat in the courtyard just outside the theater.


Can visitors be dropped off at the Billy Wilder Theater?

Visitors can be dropped off and picked up at the entrance on Lindbrook Avenue, located on the north side of the Museum between Westwood Boulevard and Glendon Avenue. Note that this entrance includes 7 steps between street level and the courtyard level of the museum.

Visitors may also be dropped off in the parking garage underneath the museum, where there is an accessible ramp. Drivers spending less than 10 minutes in the parking garage will not be charged a parking fee.


Is the theater accessible to visitors in wheelchairs, and other visitors with special needs?
 

Yes, elevators are available inside the building for easy access to the theater.  Accessible seats are reserved in the theater for visitors who need them, including four wheelchair spaces in the back of the theater and two in the front row.  Please inform our theater staff of your preference and one of our ushers will escort you.

Street Entry

An accessible entry into the museum’s main lobby on Wilshire Boulevard is located to the right of the main entrance. Please note that the entrance on Lindbrook Avenue does not have an accessible ramp.

Accessible Parking

Accessible parking spaces are located on Levels P1 and P3 of the museum’s parking garage. Accessible spaces on P1 are located on the parking entry level, directly across from the lobby entrance. Accessible spaces P3 are located adjacent to the elevators. From P3, take the elevator to P1 to access the main lobby on Wilshire Avenue and follow signs for the Hammer Museum to the main lobby.

Drop-offs

Visitors may be dropped off in the parking garage underneath the museum, where there is an accessible ramp. Drivers spending less than 10 minutes in the parking garage will not be charged a parking fee. Access the parking garage from Westwood Boulevard during museum hours. The parking entrance on Glendon Avenue is only open on weekdays.

The entrance on Lindbrook Avenue does not have an accessible ramp, and there are seven steps between street level and the courtyard level of the museum. Visitors can be dropped off and picked up at this entrance.

Elevators

From the parking garage, take the elevator to P1 for access to the museum. Once on P1, follow signs for the Hammer Museum to the main lobby. The museum elevator is located on the right side as you enter the lobby from the parking garage.

The museum elevator provides access as follows:

Level 1 – Wilshire Lobby, Lobby Gallery, and Lobby Wall installation

Level 2 – Courtyard, Billy Wilder Theater, Nimoy Studio, gallery, café, restrooms

Service Animals

Trained service animals are welcome in all spaces throughout the museum. We welcome other supervised and leashed domesticated animals only in the museum’s courtyard.


Does the theater provide hearing assistance?

Yes, the theater has a hearing assistance system available.


What is the seating capacity inside the Billy Wilder Theater?

There are 294 seats in the theater.


Can I access the theater by public transportation?
 

Yes, the Westwood Blvd. / Wilshire Blvd. intersection is conveniently serviced by several bus systems.  Please check the websites below for bus routes:
