Has worked to advance public understanding of the writers' key
role in the motion picture art form. He was instrumental, along
with The American Film Institute and Martin Scorsese, in the restoration
and re-release of David Lean's LAWRENCE OF ARABIA. Mr. Spielberg
has testified before Congress on behalf of artists rights. He
is on the Board of Trustees of The AFI and a Vice-President of
the Artists Rights Foundation.
