The Music Man  (1962)

Based on one of Broadway's biggest hits of the 1950s, The Music Man tells the story of a traveling con man who convinces small-town locals to start a band by purchasing the uniforms and instruments from him. Intending to flee as soon as he receives the money, things get complicated when the con man falls for the skeptical local librarian. Featuring gorgeous dance numbers and glorious songs, this Academy Award nominee for Best Picture is a slice of Americana and a love story all in one.
