In Celebration of Queer Shorts

My Pretty Little Girlfriend (1996)
June 29, 2013 - 7:30 pm
In-person:
Jennifer Arnold, Q. Allan Brocka, Jennifer Gentile, Carl Pfirman.

The short film has always been crucial to queer film culture; a realm where new ideas and new filmmakers have been tested and discovered. These delightful shorts from the Outfest/UCLA Legacy Collection demonstrate myriad storytelling strategies, and hearken to the pre-You Tube days of the late 1990s, when shorts were a staple of queer film. They also offer glimpses of Los Angeles in that halcyon period in emergent LGBT culture.

TRT: approx. 130 min.

Outfest members receive two-for-one admission at the Billy Wilder Theater box office!

Goulet's Sick screens with the permission of USC Hugh M. Hefner Moving Image Archive.
