UCLA Film & Television Archive is proud to collaborate with the California State Parks Foundation and Environmental Media Association in presenting ParkFilm Fest, a day-long festival on Saturday, May 5 at the Paramount Theater on the Paramount Studios Lot in Hollywood. Reflecting Hollywood’s long tradition of shooting important features in California State Parks, this year’s festival will present a marathon screening of the first three features in Walt Disney Pictures’ popular Pirates of the Caribbean series, directed by Gore Verbinsk.
A fun-filled day for kids, families, and the pirate in each of us, this event will feature numerous activities between films, and appearances by special guests at select screenings. Reflecting the height of fantasy filmmaking, the onscreen lineup also celebrates the inspiration that California State Parks have brought to Hollywood’s creative community, and to adventurers of all kinds.
