Hoping to avoid the draft during the Vietnam War, Danny and Elliot pretend to be gay, becoming roommates in a gay neighborhood, mincing and lisping and modifying their behavior and wardrobe. Outrageously politically incorrect, the film abounds with hilariously dated queer stereotypes in its always canted cataloguing of the social codes at play in Los Angeles during the swinging ‘60s.
