Jamaa Fanaka

We are very saddened at the loss of Jamaa Fanaka, L.A. Rebellion filmmaker and the only UCLA film student to make three distributed features while enrolled. His participation in our L.A. Rebellion film exhibition this past fall, appearing on stage numerous times, was a gift to everyone who attended.

You can read his obituary in the Los Angeles Times.

The Archive's director, Jan-Christopher Horak, offers his thoughts here.
