UCLA Film & Television Archive

UCLA Film & Television Archive is internationally renowned for its pioneering efforts to rescue, preserve and showcase moving image media, and is dedicated to ensuring that film history is explored and enjoyed for generations to come.

Archive Director Jan Christopher Horak was recently interviewed for a series of mini biographies about some of Hollywood's greatest talents for the Bio Channel.

Available online, these video bios of Alfred Hitchcock, Judy Garland, Steve McQueen, and many more are a great way to learn about the life stories of your favorite stars in less than five minutes. Featuring commentary from leading historians and scholars, as well as some pretty nifty footage and archival photos, the mini bios are an entertaining complement to your standard wikipedia entry. We are also pleased that the Archive can find new ways to share the expansive knowledge of its staff.

We have selected a few of our favorites available for streaming below.
