The 6th edition of Il Cinema Ritrovato, the Festival dedicated to the problems of film preservation and organized in co-operation with many FIAF film archives, will take place in Bologna on November 21 - 28, 1993. This year again, the Festival will deal with research in film preservation and restoration, explore lesser known periods of film history and show restored or reconstructed versions of famous masterpieces. The program includes a Symposium dedicated to the Methodologies of Film Restoration; this theme will be discussed on the basis of the results of the project FORCE (see technical column futher in this issue).

A section of the Festival will be dedicated to the transition from silent to sound in the United States, and the special historical section will deal with World War One (1914 - 1918).
