London / National Film and Television Archive

The National Film Archive (London) has changed its title to: National Film and Television Archive (NFTVA) with effect from January 1993. All other details concerning the Curatorship, staffing, contacts, address, etc. remain exactly as before. The title of the British Film Institute, the NFTVA's parent organisation, has not changed.

The change of name reflects the Archive's forty-year policy of acquiring and preserving television programmes, the present scale of this work, and the formal responsibilities for archiving national television output now vested in the NFTVA by legislation.
