Fundación Cinemateca Nacional, Caracas

The Fundación Cinemateca Nacional (FCN) is a non-profit, cultural institution sponsored by the Venezuelan government. After 27 years FCN has recently been updated and reorganized. Under its new administrative structure, FNC aspires to become a privileged space for the cinematographic arts in our country.

Its new administrative organization consists of four management offices, a General Manager, and a Board of Directors.

1.  The Research and Documentation Department has an international collection of books, periodicals and other material pertaining to the film world. This material is held in a library, open to students and the public in general.

2.  The film Archive is responsible not only for the preservation of the nation's audiovisual patrimony, but it also guarantees the accessibility of these materials to the public.

3.  The Programming Department's main objective is designing an excellent programming structure, covering the best in film production from all over the world. This material is exhibited in our movie theatre, open to all public.

4.  The Department of Interinstitutional Affairs is responsible for establishing working relationships with national and international institutions related to the film world. It also serves as support to other departments and one of its main objectives is the design of effective fund-raising campaigns.

The editorial projects are of the upmost importance for carrying out and supporting the cultural and social activity of the Cinemateca.

Fondée il y a 27 ans, la FCN a été réorganisée récemment. Voulant devenir le "lieu privilégié" du septième art au Vénézuéla, la nouvelle institution est sous-divisée en quatre sections (recherche, archives, programmation et relations avec d'autres institutions), placées sous la responsabilité du Directeur général.

La F.C.N., fundada hace 28 años, ha sido recientemente reorganizada. Dividida en cuatro secciones (Investigación, Archivo, Programación y Relaciones Exteriores), su organización administrativa se rige por un Director General y un Consejo de Dirección.
